National Dog Sportsman
CEM BAKAÇHAN
Cem Bakaçhan, born in 1977 in Izmir, graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Ege University. He developed an interest in dog training and dog sports before starting high school and founded “Cem Bakaçhan Dog Training Services” in 1994, “Von Bakaçhan Dog Sports Club” in 2000, and “ISKODER – Association of Dog Trainers and Breeders for Working and Sport Dogs” in 2014. He completed his military service with the Burdur Provincial Gendarmerie Command, working with tracking dogs.
In 2000, he became a member of WUSV and ACKB, and at Bakaçhan Academy, he helped future trainers develop their professional careers and brought new talent into the industry. He took on various roles in German Shepherd Dog Association events, particularly in training responsibilities. He founded Bakaçhan Team and Bakaçhan Academy, participated in numerous national and international exams with his dogs, and represented Turkey as a national athlete in 6 World Working Dog Championships.
He currently continues his work as a national working dog judge under WUSV and FCI.
Cem Bakaçhan, who continues his dog sports with Opal El Califa and breeding with Zeffy vom Grysycos, is actively working both individually and through associations to contribute to the development of dog sports in our country. He collaborates with respected trainers in his field and organizes seminars for them in Turkey.
His mission is to foster the growth and improvement of dog sports in Turkey, train and support new dog athletes, implement new training techniques, and elevate Turkey’s reputation on the international stage.
